Rowland Fellow Katja Taute published in Nature and Harvard Gazette

A team headed by Rowland Fellow Katja Taute as well as Sander Tans and Tom Shimizu at the AMOLF Institute in Amsterdam have discovered a new mechanism that explains coexistence of bacterial species. In their paper published Feb 19th in Nature, they describe how competition between “movers” and “growers” leads to a balance in which both types can continue to exist alongside each other.
